Ā Mātou Ruma / Our Rooms
Ngā Ruma / Rooms
Rooted in our ancestral pā, Te Āputa Lodge offers a place of manaakitanga — where hospitality, connection, and care guide the experience.
Each of our Queen and Double rooms opens to the horizon and the vast beauty of Tikapa Moana-o-Hauraki (the Firth of Thames), nestled by Te Tara-o-te-Ika-a-Māui (the barb of Māui’s fish — the Coromandel Ranges).
Step outside to feel the warmth of the sun, watch the ocean shift with the evening light, and listen to the native manu (birds) calling from the surrounding ngahere (forest).
In the quiet, you’ll hear the kōrero of the land and the sea breathing below.
Breathe in the fresh Hauraki winds — a taonga (treasure) that restores mauri (life force) and gently invites you to slow down, rest, and reconnect with the whenua (land), the moana (sea), and yourself.
When you stay with us, we welcome you to unwind in simplicity, light, and calm.
Our rooms are crafted as places of rest, reflection, and renewal, inviting you to settle into the rhythm of nature and return to yourself.
We offer four room types: two Queen Rooms (Ocean View and Sea View), one Double Room with sea views, and one Economy Twin Room.
Each room is warm and character-filled, designed for calm, comfort, and connection.

The Hauraki (northwinds) area a taonga (treasure) and a source of physical and spiritual sustenance. The idea of "fresh air" from the Hauraki can represent a return to the mauri (life force) of nature and a renewed sense of interconnectedness
